As the gateway to Canada's North, Yellowknife has direct flights to numerous cities, including Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and many destinations throughout the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.
When driving to Yellowknife from Edmonton, take the Mackenzie Highway (Alberta 35/NWT 1) which will lead you all the way to the Northwest Territories' border. Shortly afterward, join Highway 3 towards Fort Providence, which will bring you directly to Yellowknife. The journey from Edmonton, Alberta is about 1,500 km.
